bio

(and probably never ever wanted to!)

He's a failed footballer ! He turned his back on a professional career with Partick Thistle because "I wasn't very good" ! You can check out his "old" footie skills by watching the football videos on this site.

He's one of the few people to have played Wembley three times. Twice scoring a goal and once supporting Bros.

Who could forget he and Pat Sharp rapping "Rapper's Delight"......everybody !

He played at Wembley for Scotland in a 1-1 draw. He scored for Scotland after being chosen to play by Celtic and Scotland legend Danny McGrain. Playing in a team with the likes of McCloy, McGrain, Buckley,Brownlie, Eddie and Frank Gray, Gemmill, Robertson and Jordan against Neal, Mills, McDermott, Hughes, Coppell, Worthington and Mortimer it was one of the best days of his life. He's also played at Hampden Park and the homes of Celtic, Rangers, Dundee and Dundee United, Dunfermline,Motherwell, Partick Thistle, St Mirren, East Stirling,Yoker Athletic ( It was a big Boys Brigade Cup Final!) Manchester United, Liverpool, Everton , Aston Villa, Chelsea, Fulham, and the Los Angeles Galaxy.

He wast the first person ever to play Wet Wet Wet's first ever demo on air. He played it on his "Through the Night Show"on Radio Clyde and the Wets later gave him his own Triple Platinum Disc of "Popped In Souled Out" which he proudly still has on his wall to this day.

He's a failed pop star. His shot at glory ended badly when his version of "Rich Girl"( recorded at Wet Wet Wet's studio in Glasgow) didn't even escape never mind get released. You can hear his sad version here. The even sadder version of him singing it live on the hit tv show "The 8.15 from Manchester" will appear soon. Listen here:

Most famous person he's ever met.........Charlie Chaplin. On the beach at Nairn when he was 7!

He's performed before the Queen and Princess Margaret in two Royal shows.

He thanks/blames pal Allan Stewart for getting into showbiz. As a schoolboy he went to see Allan record his TV show at Scottish Televison. He decided that night he was not going to travel to Manchester the following weekend for a football trial but was going to become a "Luvvie" instead. He joins Allan on stage from time to time and even occasionally washes his car.

His maths teacher Roddie Hood gave him his first big break by getting him into Hospital Radio in Glasgow and by letting him host the school discos.

Paul Cooney gave him his first job at Radio Clyde as the "Saturday Boy". Ross was 16 , did everything from making tea to rigging football grounds. He was paid 10 pounds...and thats back in the day when 10 pounds was ....rubbish. He then decided not to pursue a dream of going to the The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and just become a studio factotum!

His childhood heroes were ( and still are ) his Dad and legendary Scots comedian Jack Milroy. His grown up hero is his sister Elaine who he describes as indescribable!! She's simply the best!

He counts his fiancee and family as his most prized possessions. He met Brianna in LA. Mum and Dad, David and Isabel live in Glasgow as does his sister Elaine with husband Jim and family Hollie and Euan.

He moved to LA in 2000 but kept jumping the pond for work until a permanent move a couple of years later.

His biggest challenge was playing Franknfurter in The Rocky Horror Show ( see the sad pics on the site). He had 6 days to learn the songs, words and dance routines and then takeover from pal Jason Donovan.

He's a mad collector of memorabilia. Staring collecting with Charlie Chaplin's autograph as given to him his beloved Aunt Betty. His collection contains everything from a signed Rolling Stones guitar ( signed by all 5 !), the hand written lyrics to one of his all time favourite songs "Back For Good"..a birthday gift from pal Gary Barlow, an autographed Elvis concert ticket,a whole host of James Bond items and a whole host of vintage Allan Stewart panto programmes !

He collects Pop Art and his favourites include Steve Kaufman ( Andy Warhol's protege) Ronnie Wood and David Bowie.

He still attempts to play football twice a week in LA.

He's played tennis at Wimbledon against the world's former number two tennis player. He was thrilled to play against his friend Sue Barker on the hallowed turf. Lance, Sue's husband kept a watchful eye...he was meant to be playing ! Always looking for a way to thank her he later , by a huge fluke, aced her with his very first , first serve in front of thousands at a charity game between Ross and Virginia Wade and Sue and Cliff Richard. Sue still talks to Ross...but only just !

He was an extra in an episode of Taggart when he was 16 and hopes one day to be back in the show as a baddie (actor!)

When Ross was 16 he played football with Bob Marley on a street in Glasgow outside his hotel !
