
Ross King is one of Britains most vibrant and versatile
award winning performers having worked stage, screen and radio
making his first stage performance aged 5, first radio broadcast
at the age of 15 and television debut at 17. Scots born Ross now
lives in Los Angeles and rounded off his first year as Entertainment
Anchor on LA's number one news show on KTLA/The CW Channel 5 by
winning two Emmys He was also a weather anchor on the Emmy Award
winning "The Audition" on the same station. It was a
great end to 2005 and start to 2006 when he co-hosted for the
WB Network "The Hollywood Christmas Parade" and then
covered the 76th Oscars with "Live from The Academy Awards"
.
Ross
has just completed two feature films "Trust Me" playing
the role of American Talk Show host Ray Lungo and "Little
Hercules" where he plays himself. He can also be seen regularly
on British TV screens reporting live from Hollywood on "GMTV"
the award winning and number one rated morning show. Ross also
appeared in "Half Past Dead" with Steven Seagal and
the blockbuster "The Day After Tomorrow". He played
"Nick" in the feature film "She said I love you"
alongside celebrated Japanese actor Mako (Pearl Harbor) and "Stuart"
in the comedy feature film "Do it for Uncle Manny".
He then voiced the role of "Jinkins" in "Star Wars,
Jedi Fighter 2" for Lucas Arts.. He also hosted for British
TV and Living TV specials on "Will and Grace","CSI"
and "According to Jim" and "Charmed" . Before
leaving London he played one of the leading roles in "Dick
Whittington" which was Londons musical for the millennium
at Sadlers Wells Theater in Londons West End. This production
was directed by Gillian Lynne (Cats) and was nominated for a prestigious
"Laurence Olivier Award"
Ross played "Frank n Furter" in "The Rocky Horror
Show" and starred in and hosted "Night of Stars"
at Londons world famous Palladium Theatre. He also created
the role of "Wallace" in the musical, "Summer Holiday"
from the World Premiere in Blackpool through the National Tour
to Londons Apollo Theatre. Other theatre includes lead roles
in "Charleys Aunt", "Joseph", "Butterfly
Children", "Guys and Dolls" and "She Stoops
to Conquer". Television work includes "Taggart"
and other films include "Comfort and Joy" and "The
Girl in the Picture".
His national TV career started after being chosen from over 3600
hopefuls to host ITVs "Young Krypton" and since
then he has hosted nearly thirty television series for BBC, ITV
and SKY. From game shows to Childrens TV from documentaries
to human interest programs. Rosss shows have included "Holiday",
"The Ross King Show", "Hot Chefs", "The
8.15 from Manchester", "The King of Road", "Run
the Gauntlet", "Quiz Night" and for five years
he hosted the BBCs live daily chat and entertainment show
"Pebble Mill". His years on "Pebble Mill"
involved his flying around the world filming in Europe, America,
the Caribbean and South Africa, hosting TV specials from the Oscars
and Cannes Film Festival. His relaxed and informal style has resulted
in some of the best interviews with many of the worlds biggest
stars including Robin Williams, Arnold Schwarzenneger, Pierce
Brosnan, Catherine Zeta Jones, Clint Eastwood, fellow Scot Sean
Connery, Elton John, George Michael, and never one to miss and
opportunity he has also "sung and danced" with Diana
Ross, Donald OConnor and Debbie Reynolds. His worldwide
interviews were recognized with an award from the Variety Club
of Great Britain.
On radio he became Britains youngest host on Scotlands
Radio Clyde, where he still presents shows live from Los Angeles
to over three millions listeners a week, winning many awards in
the process including a prestigious Sony Award. He s hosted
thousands of radio shows, including his own show on Londons
Capital Radio, and the Euro Chart for the UK. On BBCs National
Radio 5 he hosted "Fantasy Football" and received another
Sony Award for coverage of the Olympics . On the UKs national
Talk Radio he hosted "OK to Talk" and "Ross Kings
Sports Stars". In the UK Ross is the voice of American Express.
